Capitalism Is Not Dead

According to the mass media, capitalism is dead. They site everything that is wrong from banking to manufacturing to government.

Now that Barack Obama is the President, a new agenda has been ushered consisting of hope and a cure for all things that ail the economy.

All I know is that this is still a land of opportunities and with every change to the status quo comes a flood of new entrepreneurs. This is no more apparent than all of the collectibles associated with the 1st Inauguration of an African-American President.

You don’t need to look any farther than QVC Shopping Network where they have listed 38 unique items such as a simulated pearl necklace, a pocketwatch and even a comic book to commensurate this historic event.

The most unusual collectible I stumbled upon reading the Chicago Tribune was the Inaugural Lava Lamp that comes in Commemorative Packaging, which can be purchased for just $39.99.

Capitalism is not dead. It’s simply transforming to be more accomdative to this moment. As stated in President Obama’s inauguration speech, “The Time Is Now!”

What are you doing to keep the spirit of capitalism alive?
